Short review: read it.

Lisa Scottoline is a must buy, must read author. This stand-alone is easy to follow and difficult to put down. No editing errors, gratuitous violence or drag-you-down drama. Surprise ending.

Intriguing storyline with realistic procedures, actions and reactions. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking and informative dialogue.

I will re-read this story and always look forward to, pre-order when possible, new works by this author.

Feared A Rosato DiNunzio Novel Lisa Scottoline Books Reviews

Lisa has done it again. Another great story full of surprises and suspense. I have read a lot of books by Lisa Scottoline and have really enjoyed them all. This Book is highly suggested read.
I usually give a Rosato and Di Nunzio books 5 stars BUT not this one. While it started out with all the wonderful DiNunzio family and friends Lisa Scottoline did not stay true to her two main characters, Mary and Judy. It was suspenseful till Mary completely stepped out of character by telling Machiavelli and his mother all the details of the tech case and accused him of murder and then Judy complelty lost it with Roger, and these are 2 experienced lawyers? What started out as a great step by step case and murder mystery was completely ruined by not sticking to Mary and Judy’s characters. Very disappointing. Lisa Scottoline is one of my favorite authors, she can do better. The personalities of all the main characters are the reason for all the loyal readers.
Wow. I did not see that coming. I thought, early on, that I knew who was going to turn out to be the killer. Lisa's plot twists kept me involved until the very end. I really didn't know if Bennie, Mary, Judy and Anne's practice was going to survive and I was wondering if Scottoline was planning to have them just "start over" with her next book? Don't want to be a spoiler so I won't tell you the answer to that question.
Book is worth reading, but I much prefer this series when Bennie was the lead character. Mary is interesting, but her family and friends take up too much space in narrative, and that aspect is so repetitive of prior books that it loses my interest.
Plus, this felt like a cheat - the "whodunit" aspect just didn't make sense.
Enjoyed reading this, but wish the author would move to viewpoint of another character already.
I love all the characters that reoccur in this series. While it has serious problems like law suits and murder, you actually laugh at some things in the book. Family, food and friendship are theme's in all the books in the series. I'M glad that Mary's family and the 3 Tony's had a part in this book.
You could read this book without reading the other books in the series but what you would miss! Waiting for the next book in the series.
Well, Lisa Scottoline did it again - a great story with the characters her fans love! Mary DiNunzio's family shines as always, and "the Tonys" provide comic relief. Maybe it's not the international thriller that some other 5-Star novels are, but it's still a 5-star story and a great legal thriller for me. I feel like I've known these characters for years in real life because Scottoline brings them to life again in each story. It's an escape I always enjoy, and this time I was (almost) on vacation! A beach read (kinda), and the legal issues are interesting while the danger is very real. I'm already looking forward to the next one. If you're thinking of trying this series, start with #1 "Everywhere That Mary Went," the first in the series that came out in 1993 as Scottoline's first novel and that was nominated for an Edgar Award by the mystery Writers of America. That was the year I passed the bar in NJ and PA and took on law as a second career in my 40's. I loved Bennie Rosato and the others then, and still do!
I really enjoyed this book. Why wouldn't I? it's a Lisa Scottoline novel. My favorite part was the verbal repartee between Mary and Judy. I told my bestie some of it and she is now going to start reading Lisa Scottoline books. She and I are just like that and that is why I love Lisa's books. They are real in making a connection with the reader. It's fun to laugh or roll your eyes because we've all seen similiar things in our own lives.
Well researched, fast paced and fun. Couldn't wait to get to the end to see if Mary has her baby and whether it's a boy or girl. I guessed incorrectly. And, to find out who the murderer was -okay, so we don't all experience murders in our life thank God - and. I was wrong on that guess as well. And, you know what? I loved that, too. I wish i could gove more than five stars!
