If you could open up to anyone, who would it be and what would you say?

Ninety-four characters ponder these questions in the most sincere ways they know how, and together they paint a picture of a world that shifts between moments of deep connection and painful alienation. Some only care about getting a fix on a given day, others reveal guarded currents of spirituality between their words, and all have something to add to the story of a generation that refuses to be defined.

2014 - The book's description is not misleading- really is different. Each chapter essentially is a character telling his/her story or their view of the world we live in today- and they don't hold back, no topic is off limits! WHAT I LIKED: Unique/great alternative to all the trendy talk about Gen Y, boomers. etc. The character's thoughts about today's society were accurate. Really cool chapter in the words of Google (the search engine, not the company), another chapter is completely words and phrases describing the past decade (hilarious). WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: There literally is no plot, main character, etc. It took me a few chapters to adjust to that and the quick change in characters (every two pages or so/different character for every chapter)). F bombs and "balls" used a lot from a few characters. I also wanted to hear more from some of the characters like Mac Collins, or how their story ends, like Stanley White (a mass shooter). WHAT SURPRISED ME: There's a chapter where (I believe) the author gives away the source of his inspiration for a plot-less book about society from a generation's view. The chapter's character is a real author; perhaps Melsom's way of paying homage- which is genius. I highly recommended this book for the 35+ crowd, millennials, and anyone interested in their honest perspective on the recession, dating, career, and more. (I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review).
